Our venue is the Willow Globe (Y Glob Byw), Rhayader, Powys. It is a scaled down version of the Globe in London made from carefully woven living willow, which will be green and lush when we are there.  Acting on its rough thrust stage is a magical and intimate experience. There is also a marquee and several smaller spaces we can use for workshops.

The line-up of tutors is as impressive as the venue. Kieron Rees is a Drama Tutor for 3 performing arts academies, as well as running drama workshops for schools and communities for Cardiff and RCT councils. He directs for several youth and adult theatre companies and free lances professionally as stage manager, lighting designer/operator and choreographer. Plus, it wouldn’t be right being at Willow Globe if Sue Best and Phil Bowen didn’t contribute; they will be taking 2 sessions.

On The Day

It’s our usual format – arrive middle of Monday morning, leave middle of Saturday morning after performances on the Friday evening. Workshops and evening activities with bar will be at Willow Globe. B&B accommodation is in single rooms at the 3* Hampton Hotel 6 miles away in Llandrindod Wells. There will be coach transfers.

The Willow Globe were awarded an Honorary Membership in 2016 for their continued support with Summer School.
